We are a planning consultancy predominantly covering the South West, Midlands and South East, although in many cases it is possible to cover the whole country, so please feel free to contact us even if you are further afield.

Why might I need a planning consultant?

When considering undertaking a building project in your home, site or for your business, most people will first look for an architect, the role of a planning consultant can be just as essential to the process.

Not all planning applications are simple and straighforward, and whilst an architect may be able to realise your vision for your project, it may not get very far if it doesn’t comply with planning policy – this is where we come in.

Although some smaller applications can be submitted without a planning consultant, this is not always the case. We have specialist knowledge about policies which need to be adhered to when making changes to your property or site, we can provide information about any specific constraints which may have an impact on your vision, or when a proposal is more contentious, a planning consultant can advise on the best course of action and the feasibility of a proposal.

We can help you by discussing your ideas at the outset, before you invest in an architect’s drawings, and help you find a solution which meets your needs and marries it with the requirements of planning policy.

We can advise on the feasibility of your project within the context of these policy requirements and advise on the likelihood of obtaining planning permission, and by what means.

This can range from a pre-application discussion with the local planning authority or parish council, the submission of a planning application, promotions of a site through the local plans process, and where necessary the submission of a planning appeal when an application has been refused.

We can advise on the need for Planning Permission or if a project can be carried out under Permitted Development, or with a Lawful Development Certificate.

We can prepare and submit an appeal if you have been refused planning permission for the project your architect submitted.
